Terry L Johnson

Terry L. Johnson, 68, North Manchester, Indiana passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020 in his residence. He was born on January 31, 1952 in Wabash, Indiana to Delbert A. and Leanna M. (Rhoades) Johnson.

During high school, Terry played keyboard in a rock and roll band called ‘Rising Son’ which eventually became ‘American Freedom Band’. A year after graduating from Manchester High School in 1970, Terry married his best friend and soulmate Pam Bashore on May 24, 1971. Professionally, Terry began his career with Peabody Seating Company in 1970 and left when it closed in 1985. Terry worked a few years for Majestic in Huntington, Indiana and later at the Parks and Rec Department for the town of North Manchester and Custom Magnetics, also in North Manchester. He finished his career with Timbercrest Senior Living and after seventeen years of serviced retired on April 1, 2016. When Terry wasn’t working, spending time with family, or helping others, he enjoyed camping, mowing, and snow removal. He relished in his time spent outdoors. He also liked to bowl in both a men’s league and mixed league with his wife Pam in North Manchester and play golf in the Peabody Golf League. On Sundays, Terry could be found watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on television, especially during the years when Terry Bradshaw played. With his loving and supportive nature, Terry will truly be missed by his family and friends.

The loving memory of Terry L. Johnson will be forever cherished by his mother Leanna M. Johnson; wife Pam Johnson, North Manchester; son Shawn (Nikki) Johnson, North Manchester; daughter Patricia (Derrick) Avery, North Manchester; brother Randall “Randy” Johnson; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his father Delbert A. Johnson; half-brother Thomas Johnson; and half-sister Virginia Coon.

Family and friends may call Friday, February 7, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior at McKee Mortuary. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, Indiana.
