Yvonne Sue (Hensley) Cox

Yvonne Sue Cox, 66, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away April 9, 2024, at The Waters of Wabash West. The daughter of Herbert Leonard and Jo Ann (Barton) Hensley, Yvonne was born January 21, 1958, in Wabash.

After graduating from Manchester High School in 1977, Yvonne was invited to go to nationals in cooking after winning a state cooking competition. There she placed second overall in the country. While she was a truly talented cook, her greatest gift was being a mother and grandmother. Yvonne enjoyed the simple things in life and was a private person. She showed more strength and grace in the face of her health problems over the last ten years than many do in their entire lives. Yvonne was a constant inspiration to those around her.

The loving memory of Yvonne Sue Cox will be forever cherished by her children, Jeremy (Stephanie) Modert, Fripp, South Carolina, Joshua (Tiffany) Modert, Gobles, Michigan, Kelli Flock, Warsaw, and Kyle Flock, North Manchester; brothers, Jeff (Kathy) Hensley, Mike Hensley, and Herbert Leonard Hensley II, all of North Manchester; sisters, Vickie Hensley, Westmoreland, Tennessee, Revonda Hensley, Dallas, Texas, Norma (Tim) Grandstaff, North Manchester, Debbie (John) Burke, Roann, Judy (Jeff) Duhon, Lake Jackson, Texas, and Sheila (Kevin) Sorg, North Manchester; over one hundred twenty nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and nine grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Jolene Hensley; and brothers-in-law, Tim Bell, Jeff Stacy, and Chuck Drudge.

Family and friends may call Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. A celebration of Yvonne’s life will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
